The road infrastructure in Kitwe like in many other parts of the country had over the years suffered serious neglect resulting in some areas of the district becoming inaccessible by motor vehicle. Good roads and a decent road network create a better environment for people to conduct their businesses, be it in urban or rural towns. In this regard, the Copperbelt is poised to develop its road network to ease movement of people and transportation of goods. Upgrading of Approximately 20Kms of Kitwe Urban Roads is a contract awarded to China Geo-Engineering Corporation. Surface type is Asphalt Pavements. Road length is 20.7 Km. Duration is 12 months. The project was completed successfully within budget and three months ahead of schedule.
